I live in a little cottage nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains with my sexy, well dressed husband and our fat, orange tabby named Gus.
We live pretty simply and therefore very happily.
It’s summer time now, and the high for today is going to be 84 F with a chance of scattered thunderstorms.
I don’t know what it’s like where you live, but summer days like today are perfect. We were in Arkansas a few weeks ago, and the high temperature maxed out at 113 F. This mountain girl could feel the moisture being leached from her soul as soon as she stepped out of the car.
The mountains aren’t only cooler, there is a certain freshness in the air. The breezy breeze blows through your being and the mild warmth envelopes you with a gentle kiss.
Today I plan on sitting on my front porch, sipping some freshly squeezed strawberry lemonade, listening to the Civil Wars, and working on lesson plans. Being a teacher has many benefits, but right now in this moment, having summers off is topping my list.
Do you like summer? What are things that you enjoy doing on your summer days off?
