Cheers, Two Years to Come

Scratching my head, I consider the years that have flipped by us so quickly. Like the pages of the best books, they draw me in yet leave me hungering for more. I feel as though we have been married for more than just two years, and I say that without the slightest trace of negativity.

We’ve had a rather full two years of marriage, and an even fuller seven years of friendship. I remember when I came to the grand realization that you were the only person that I could ever see myself with, now I get to live out that realization everyday. To me it seems as though we were always together, a constant continuation of each other. Where you leave off, I pick up. Where you stop, I start.

I thank God for my every thought of you, every memory with you, every moment spent in your sweet presence. Your name means Jehovah’s gift, and you my dear most certainly are. If death were to ever come between us, I could search for a thousand lifetimes yet never find someone who so perfectly matches me as you do. Even the way my hand fits into yours is a testament to how we were created to fit together.

I don’t much care for fighting, but I’ll always fight for you. I still choose to love you, even when I don’t like you, although that is rare indeed. You are the one my heart loves, and I will not release you from my grasp until the day the Lord calls one of us home.

I love you, respect you, admire you, and wish nothing but the best for you. You are my best friend, my true companion, and I absolutely look forward to our third year of marriage. You are the best thing in my life, and I count it an honor to grow old with you.

Happy 2nd Anniversary, cheers to the many years to come.

Happy Half Year!

You are six months old today! How did this happen? I can’t believe that a half a year ago you were born.

You have grown to be such a big girl! You are sitting on your own, although you are still a little wobbly at times. You are grabbing for just about everything, and you are babbling up a storm. You say Ma-ma a lot, though I don’t think you fully realize that is my name. 🙂

You make the cutest faces, I swear. You have all along, but you’ve grown to perfect them for sure. You like to crinkle you nose and blow air in and out of your nose really fast like you are building up steam, and it’s just about the most adorable thing ever.

You like to play with my face when I nurse you or daddy’s when he feeds you a bottle. You act like you want to just stand up and walk and get a little frustrated when your body won’t let you.

You weigh over 15 lbs. are 26 and 3/4 inches, and you wear from 3-6 months onesies and 6-9 month pants. You are quite tall, my dear. You are still in size two diapers.

In the last month you celebrated your first Christmas, saw your first snow, and welcomed your first new year. You loved opening your presents on Christmas morning, you piled all of them on your lap like a little hoarder. You’ll see the video one day. 🙂

I can’t believe that you are growing to be such a big girl. I love more with each passing day, and I look forward to the next half a year of your life.

This song was playing at the moment of your birth, and I still cry when I hear it. I never take a moment we have together for granted. I’m certainly not a perfect mommy, and I feel like a failure most days, but I am always for grateful for the blessing that you are.

I Resolve 2014

Reviewing my resolutions from last year, I must say that I kept more of them than not. That is quite the accomplishment for me considering I’m incredibly good at starting projects only to leave them incomplete.

This year I want to keep it simple. I have a half-year old, a stud husband, and a cozy mountain cottage to manage, and efficiency is my favorite way to do things. Therefore I need to be able to stretch myself but do so in a way that I won’t stress myself.

So here it goes.

I resolve….

To read, learn, and memorize as much as I can the words that Jesus spoke in the Bible.

To respect my husband more, dance with him more, read with him more, and focus more on him not just as the father of my child but as the lover of my lifetime.

To document my girl’s milestones, love on her more (done), and to learn more about being a parent from her and others and occasionally books.

To spend more time with family and friends.

To take more classes, get better at photography,  and to make things and sell them.

To get healthy. Bye-bye junky non-foods, hello nutritious real foods.

To run a race.

To perform on stage, not just singing but acting/dancing. It’s been almost 3 years since I’ve done this.

2013 was a wonderful year. I want to make this year even better.

Happy New Year!!!
